The Art of Iconography

Iconography is one of the most expressive branches of Orthodox Christian art. Through centuries of tradition, Byzantine iconography has developed a strictly codified iconographic system — symbols, colours, postures and forms that carry deep theological content and unchanging spiritual value.

Each icon is not merely an image — it is a theological text in visual language. The depiction of Jesus Christ, the Virgin Mary, angels and saints follows rules formed in the early Christian era and preserved unchanged to this day through the Orthodox ecclesiastical tradition.

The silk-screen technique we use allows precise reproduction of colours and lines, giving each icon depth and vividness that approaches the result of handwritten iconography.

As a base we use exclusively natural linden wood — one of the most suitable woods for icons due to its stability and smooth surface. Each icon is finished with exceptional protective varnish that ensures longevity and colour preservation over time.

All icons and ecclesiastical items are made in Greece, with respect for the Orthodox iconographic tradition and attention to every detail. Custom sizes are available on request.
